‘Emerson’- Taxi hit and run on a loving cat

Eleisha is currently studying to be a nurse while she manages to bring up her 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Eleisha is a single mum who has battled with severe depression but loves her animals like they are her own children and understands the value that her pets add to her life.

‘Emerson’ is a two-year-old adoption tomcat who was hit by a taxi that didn’t even stop to see if he was ok. Eleisha took him to the vet near her at Mt. Pleasant who x-rayed his leg it showed that his femur had dislocated dorsally. Unable to afford the cost to help her loved pet Eleisha reached out to the team at PMC. The first action for PMC was to get ‘Emerson’ to our friends at Southern Animal Health who instantly discounted the cost of the surgery needed.

“We met Emerson last year through a cage. Every time we went to walk away he would make a high pitched yowl until we went back. My girls begged me to adopt him and he has been our best mate ever since. He means the world to us.” Eleisha looked back on meeting ‘Emerson’.

The surgery went perfectly and the affectionate cat is recovered. Thanks once again for our heroes at SAH for helping this lovely family stay together. People who realise how much their pets can help with mental stability understand the undeniable difference they make, and how tragic it is to have them put to sleep for financial reasons. Thanks for your support and for sharing our mission.

Pet Medical Crisis relies on public donations to assist pensioners and disadvantaged owners who cannot afford life-saving veterinary care.
